About Us
Two Sisters. Multiple Cameras. One Passion.
Our Parents raised us to respect and appreciate nature, and nurtured a great love for the animal kindom.
As long as either of us can remember, we've been making regular trips to zoos across the country.

Photographing the animals we met became a fixture of those zoo visits. Yet for a long time, those piles of photos would sit gather dust and go unseen.

It's not easy being introverts and drawing attention to yourselves, but we chose to do so regardless. In 2011 we joined international, online art communnity DeviantArt and started sharing our photos with the world.
DeviantArt has opened up a new and bright world with like-minded animal lovers and art appreciators who continue to inspire us.

In the vast expanse of work from nature and zoo photographers you can readily find online, it can be difficult to determine who you are and want to be - both as people and as photographers.
But just as importantly, how you want others to look at you.

Our identity as photographers is still as true to who we are when we first started in 2011.
Our photography is our hobby, a love and passion. While we strive to improve, we're not looking for perfection.
Perfect photos become boring quickly; instead, we aim to bring the weird, cute, awkward and sometimes pretty moments we witness to the internet with every photo.

MEET THE PHOTOGRAPHERS
Daniëlle & Marisa
We are sisters, first and foremost. We might not look much alike, but we have a lot in common. That's what makes this mutual hobby enjoyable to both of us. Our shared interest doesn't stop at a love of animals and passion for photography. We also have the same taste in books and music. Especially the latter benefits us both, when we partake in larger zoo trips.
You can find us in different zoos on many weekends. Though we highly appreciate our anonimity and are relatively introverted, we enjoy talking to other animal lovers so don't be afraid to strike up a conversation.
Daniëlle
Always be yourself, unless you can be a unicorn.
All children are susceptible to the opinions of their peers. As a kid, Daniëlle knew that speaking up about her dream of being a farmer would not go over well. So she followed her other dream, to become a teacher.
But in order to be a good teacher, one has to be good at public speaking and interacting with children, and enjoying both.
It wasn't until she had her degree, that Daniëlle had to accept she wasn't good at, or enjoyed either.

Now an adult, and less inclined to care about the opinions of others, Daniëlle took a look in the kitchen of a modern-day farm. She came to the conclusion she wasn't fit to be a farmer either - her love of animals had taken on a completely different shape.

Currently working in information management as a functional manager of HR-applications, Daniëlle is able to combine her love of animals and educating others through the zoo photography hobby she shares with her sister Marisa.
Marisa
Still waters run deep.
As the youngest sister of three, Marisa had footsteps in which she could follow if she chose to. Undoubtedly, it would have been the easiest route. Instead, she forged her own path.
School was easy and hard at the same time. Keeping her head down and ignoring the taunts, she proved that underhanded behavior isn't necessary to get into college with only good grades in her pocket.

Almost all of her free time went into studying law - first a bachelor's degree in Dutch law, next a master's degree in environmental and international law. Yet, she found the time to start a hobby together with sister Daniëlle in zoo photography.

You need the right connections, and not necessarily just the right education, in order to get a job in environmental or international law. Since she's also got an accounting diploma, Marisa started working at a bank. Currently, she's got a job in customer due diligence.
